Maples Martial Arts is privately owned by Buck and Jacy Maples since 2008. Senior Master Buck Maples is a 6th Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, 1st Dan in Tang soo do and 1st Dan in Hap ki do. He has been training in the arts since 1987 and teaching since 1997.
Senior Master Maples was born and raised in Castroville, Tx. He graduated from Medina Valley High School with honors and continued his education to become an Electronics Engineer. During this time, he still studied and taught Martial Arts. He shows his passion is in Martial Arts and enjoys passing his knowledge down to his students in a fun, yet structured environment.
The foundation of our school is Tae Kwon Do, but we are not limited to just one art. We have incorporated grappling and many other forms of arts into our school. This not only helps for competitions, but also helps us to have the knowledge to defend ourselves, if needed, in our everyday lives.
Tae Kwon Do skills are based upon 4 parts. These parts are Katas (forms), Sparring, self-defense, and board breaking. Within these lessons, you will find that respect, discipline, confidence, and character building is a large part of Martial Arts.
Creed of Tae Kwon Do
To build true confidence through strength in my body, honesty in my heart, and knowledge in my mind. To keep friendship with one another and to build a strong and happy community. Never fight to achieve selfish ends, but to develop Might for Right!
